The interdisciplinary studies degree is not yet a well know one. The degree is not fully understood by many people who are hearing about it for the first time. Yet, interdisciplinary degree seekers and holders tend to seek educational content in more than one area; people who want to forge a path that works with their ideas and knowledge versus one that holds them to someone else's. The interdisciplinary degree holder is perhaps the most diverse of all degree holders as the degree itself offers such multifaceted, eclectic options. The nature and diversity of the degree make it easily marketed to people who are perhaps like-minded and desire to see changes globally, but the world is bigger than that group of people and companies. Thus, how do we market the degree to those who do not find value in the diversity of the program? The value in the degree lies mainly in that of the student; in order to affect change, the value needs to lie in the degree.
