Name
Gratitude & Acceptance: Avoiding Toxic Comparisons in the Classroom
Date & Time
Saturday, October 16, 2021, 5:00 PM - 5:50 PM
Description

We live in a world of constant comparisons – whether it be at work, social media, or in school. These comparisons can inhibit personal growth, causing feelings of self-doubt and isolation among many other things. It can also lead to disunity and a vision that differences are weaknesses instead of strengths, depriving individuals of the joy that integration and collaboration can bring. This proposal aims to help students learn how to avoid toxic comparisons and take greater ownership and empowerment in their educational pursuits through the lens of gratitude and acceptance. It is hoped that students will be able to learn that there is more we have in common than what divides us and that those differences can actually expand our vision and create greater strength.
