"I recently published an article in Integrative Pathways on the involvement of Nanotechnology in the fight against ending the COVID-19 pandemic. The paper focused specifically on the interdisciplinary nature of the field of Nanotechnology as a necessary component in the research carried out in major labs around the world. The intersection of the major sciences in Nanotechnology at the very tiny scale makes it possible to develop novel and innovative tools to diagnose, study and treat viruses such as the SARS-CoV-2. My purpose of this talk is to first highlight the field of Nanotechnology by defining the field, presenting a brief background on the research in this area and then focusing on the need for interdisciplinarity in education and research specifically in the sciences. I can see connecting the current pandemic state with the involvement of Nanotechnology in diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics in ending the pandemic will encourage the audience to learn more about the interdisciplinary nature of the Nano-world as well as appreciate the increasing need of developing hybrid skills in science and medicine.
